It borders the Clarksville Historic District and the West Line Historic District. Downtown and the University of Texas at Austin are both within an eight minute drive.

Old West Austin Real Estate

Despite its residential nature, Old West Austin real estate is developing a reputation for access to culinary diversity and higher-end dining and ample access to retail, including Whole Foods and Central Market. Further, the District Park and the Shoal Creek Greenbelt provide walking and biking trails, a picnic area, and a playground. There is also well-developed green space along the Colorado River on the southern end of the district.

This part of town offers a wide range of housing options and prices. Properties range from modest bungalows under 1,000 square feet to 5,000 square foot historic mansions. Given the historic nature of the neighborhood, houses tend to be unique, with varying degrees of modernization and renovation.
