Deep Eddy Real Estate

In addition to its idyllic location on Lake Austin, Deep Eddy real estate is also in easy proximity to premier outdoor venues, including Lions Municipal Golf Course, which is centrally located in the neighborhood.  Nearby Redbud Isles Park lies in the middle of Lake Austin and is connected via the Redbud Trail. With miles of scenic hiking trails, Redbud is popular with dog owners due to its off-leash exercise area.  Eiders Park contains a playground, picnic area, and shaded walking paths, as well as the Deep Eddy Pool, which is the main attraction. Built in the 1920s, Deep Eddy is the oldest swimming pool in Texas. Featuring a bathhouse constructed by the WPA during the Great Depression, the pool and its accompanying outbuilding are now on the National Register of Historic Places.

Deep Eddy homes are well connected to some of the best amenities in Austin. Less than 10 minutes from downtown and the University of Texas at Austin, the area offers an easy commute to all points north and south via the MoPac Expressway.  Enfield Rd. provides relatively quick access to Interstate 35. Area restaurants include the Hula Hut, with spectacular views of the water, and Mozart’s Coffee Roasters.  Shopping is conveniently located just to the north in Tarrytown, which offers two retail centers, Tarrytown Center and Casis Village.  Containing a mix of local businesses and chain stores, both shopping complexes are less than 10 minutes from any location in Westfield.  A few minutes further up MoPac Expressway, The Domain is an outdoor shopping complex that offers a mix of mid-range and high-end retailers, including Neiman Marcus and Luis Vuitton.

Deep Eddy is zoned to Casis Elementary, O. Henry Middle School, and Austin High School.  Private schools in the area include St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, Girls’ School of Austin, Kirby Hall School, and St. Austin Catholic School.

Houses in Deep Eddy average just over 2,500 square feet with a median price of $500,000.  More modest homes can be found for around $300,000, while prices top out at well above $1 million for the largest custom homes.  Although the area is mostly owner-occupied, there is a smattering of apartment complexes along MoPac Expressway.
